Are we not looking for the approvalof others? Does it not feel uplifting when weknow that we have done agreat job and someone else acknowledgesit ?
Of course itfeelsgreat We all want recognition. As a matter a fact, some of us become very sad if peopledo not acknowledge our beauty, career, nice clothes, reputation etc.Recognition makes us feel appreciated and that our presence has impact; approval reinforces our sense of purpose and, therefore, encourages us to press forward even in the face of challenge.
Imagine now that you have someone whois supportingand guidingyou inaspects of life where you may not be as knowledgeable( health, fitness, relationships, career etc). Many people hold themselves back by not trying something new or not asking for help when they are unsure. Even if you know how to workout, eat healthy, date or are good at your job, you may still not be discovering your full potential. Soliciting the advice of a coach, someone whom is knowledgeable that you respect, can help open avenues to you that would have never seen on your own. An outside resource can give you the expertise and reaffirming support to help you reach new successes. I get this perspective from my own experience, where simple affirmation from someone I respect took me on journey that I never could have envisioned on my own.
Astrologically a Gemini, I am an aficionado of novelty and , luckily , have always been dexterous at a variety of things . My inherent curiosity brought me one time to the career of beinganMMA ( Mix Martial Arts)fighter.
There was a guy named Brandon at my gym always practicing fight moves and doing challeniging workouts. Impressed by his athleticism and curious to know how I could learn something similar , I simply decided to talk to him one day. As I discovered , Brandon was a trainer for amateur fightersBrandonlovedwhat he wasdoing and MMAcage fighting was his passion. I had been wanting to challenge my body and mind in a new way , but did not yet know the path to follow . And just like that the universe provided to me the support and guidance I was looking for.Within few days I found myself training with Brandon , a professionalcoach, who also introduced me toother coaches thattrainedme in fighting styles that were their domain. I had no idea I could workout 2-3 hours 5 times a week.
My confidencein the ring becamebigger andbigger, andI started thinking about going for the real deal-- an amateur cage fight
Sure enough, after 4 months of intense training, my coach received an email about an amateur cage fight tournament " Beat to Sleep"inBaton Rouge, Louisiana.I decided to enter the tournament and entered ring withfriends and family cheering for me. I even had a friend record it alland create aDVD that I have proudly shownmany times since. Altough I chose never to fight again, the whole training an competing experience changed me in icredible ways .
You are probably curious how it went. Well, I lost after 3 full rounds by decision. But because someone said that "I could and i am able to", just like my coach Brandon always encouraged me to do, Icreated and executedmy dream. Athough ultimately I did not feel that my great life purpose was to be a fighter , I gained mental and physical training experience that opened my eyes to the pleasure of challenge and its respective achievment. To this day,I am still registered with National MMA Association and have a wonderful life story to tell my future children.
Today, the way I train and workout now is comparable to aprofessional athlete. And I am thankfulto my coach that showed me my potential. Thinking back, I was doing 90% of work; but my coach was there topat me on shoulder, show me new ways of doing things,, and recognize my hard work. Now imagine what person like that could do with your dreams.
I am convinced that having alife coach or master mind will lead you down the right path towards any achievments you wish. They can offer you their expertise and guidance.
Again, only you will ultimately be in charge of what you achieve, but 99% of people quit or simply stop before they get to the top just because of lack of confidence. Entertain your curiosities , solicit the right guidance, be recognized for your success and prepare to go all the way.
